Mod «[WW2 Collection] Lewis Gun minipack» for Ravenfield
[WW2 Collection] Lewis Gun minipack mod for Ravenfield
Designed for the US Army in 1911, the Lewis gun was not accepted due to personal and political differences between the inventor, Isaac Newton Lewis, and the ordnance department chief, General William Crozier. The gun continued production in Belgium, where several prototypes were made for the Belgian army. Through connections to the British BSA, Lewis secured a production license, moving manufacturing to Britain, where it saw use throughout WW1. At the start of WW2, most Lewis guns had been decommissioned as obsolete. The loss of British machine guns during the French campaign forced their reissue. It was primarily used for AA roles in the British army, but Commonwealth nations and the Netherlands used it extensively, especially in the Pacific.
