Mod «Better Clock(re)works» for Don't Starve Together
This mod reworks Clockwork enemies in Don't Starve Together. It improves taming mechanics, expands their use as followers, and adds quality-of-life changes.
Changes:
- Clockworks no longer spawn from Figures during a Full Moon. Only Suspicious Marbles retain this effect.
- Broken Clockworks can be picked up, moved, and transported between worlds.
- Each Clockwork type now has unique health values instead of all having 900 HP.
- Damaged Clockworks emit an insanity aura (except for Walter and Wanda).
- Hitting a tamed Clockwork stops it from following you without making it hostile. It remains neutral in its new location.
- Tamed Clockworks do not attack other stunned Clockworks, making taming easier.
- Tamed Clockworks no longer run away when you try to interact with them or while on a boat.
- Tamed Clockworks protect each other if one is attacked.
- Broken Clockworks can rarely be found sunken in the ocean and retrieved with a Winch. This feature is active by default only in worlds without Caves.
New Features:
- The mod introduces a new system for taming and upgrading Clockworks.
- Stunned Clockworks can be opened to modify their internal components.
- Each Clockwork has 3 slots for mechanical or electrical items.
- Items provide unique, stackable effects and can be combined for different results. Check the Scrapbook for details on Clockworks and Clockwork Modules.
- Press «Fix Up» to tame a Clockwork after filling its slots. This also works on Broken Clockworks.
- Clockworks can be healed with most upgrade items without needing to be stunned first.
- Wild Clockworks have a small chance to spawn partially pre-upgraded.
All features are controlled by a definition file, allowing compatibility with other mods that add new Clockworks or upgrade items. Most changes can be disabled in the configuration settings.
