The Defect is a playable character from Slay the Spire adapted for Don't Starve Together.
Stats

  • Health: 125
  • Sanity: 50 (gain and drain rates are halved)
  • Hunger: 150


Character Perks

  • Energy: Attacks consume Energy. Lower Energy reduces attack power, down to 50%.
  • Robot: No penalties from stale or spoiled food. Getting wet causes a short circuit. Uses WX-78's voice and quotes.
  • Orbs: When a Core is equipped, four types of Orbs can be Channeled. Each Orb reduces Max Sanity by 10.


Orb Mechanics

  • Equip an exclusive Core. Press R to consume Energy and summon an Orb.
  • Orbs maintain a set distance from the character. Use Q and E to rotate the Orb angle.
  • Only one Orb can exist at a time. Channeling a new one Evokes the previous Orb.


Lightning Orb

  • Attacks once per second, dealing 10 electric damage (+5 per Focus).
  • When evoked on enemy contact: deals 5x damage and causes electrical paralysis, then disappears.


Frost Orb

  • Starts with 100 HP (+50 per Focus).
  • Attacks apply half a tier of Freezing and draw aggro.
  • Right-click to possess the Orb and block damage.
  • When destroyed, it leaves an ice ring that slows non-player entities.


Dark Orb

  • Absorbs a percentage of Shadow Creatures' Max Health while weakening targets. The closer the distance, the higher the absorption multiplier.
  • Absorbed Max Health converts into Evoke damage. 50% of this damage is dealt as planar damage.
  • Absorption effect is reduced 10x against bosses. Each point of Focus adds 3 base absorption damage, unaffected by distance or target Max Health.
  • Damage value decays rapidly during Day, slower at Dusk, and not at all at Night.


Plasma Orb

  • Generates Energy and provides light based on Energy level.
  • Shrinks light radius to supply Energy when levels are low.


Exclusive Items
Cores

  • Starts with a Cracked Core. Recovers 2 Energy/s while idle.
  • The Core has 4 slots for Data cards and special items only.
  • Provides 0%–50% damage absorption based on current Energy.
  • Repair Recipe: Blue Gem + 10 Glow Berries + 2 Electrical Doodads + 3 Moon Glass.
  • After repair: 50%–80% absorption, 8 slots, and improved Energy recovery/max. Recovery works slowly even when not idle.
  • The Core can be upgraded into four specialized versions:


Frozen Core

  • Recipe: Snow Day Lure + Ice Bream + 2 Blue Gems.
  • Enhances Frost Orb Freezing and ice ring slow effects.
  • Blizzard: Rains hail on a target area. More Frost Orbs create more hail with a wider spread. Damage scales with Frost Orb HP.
  • Immune to Freezing and regenerates Frost Orbs when cold. No longer immune to electric damage and takes increased fire damage.


Thunderbolt Core

  • Recipe: Restrained Static + 2 Volt Goat Horns + 10 Bottled Lightning.
  • When Orb Slots are full, prioritizes releasing Lightning Orbs to chase enemies.
  • Releases Lightning Orbs when taking damage.
  • Tempest: Consumes 5 Energy per channeled Lightning Orb until depleted. Changes weather to Rain.


Dark Core

  • Recipe: Shadow Atrium + 3 Pure Horror.
  • Dark Orb gains +10 damage/s.
  • Aggregate: Treats all nearby targets as Shadow Creatures, attacks them, and drags them toward the character.


Fusion Core

  • Recipe: Magiluminescence + Astral Detector + 2 Moon Glass Saw Blades + Nucleation Fluid.
  • Enhances Core Energy recovery and max capacity.
  • Meteor Strike: Summons a meteor that splits into 2 random Boulders on impact. Hit targets become plasmatized.
  • Plasmatized: Every 100 damage taken releases an ion orb dealing 10 damage plus damage over time.
  • Plasma Orbs hit by the meteor are empowered.


Data Cards

  • Items based on Slay the Spire cards. Place them in the Core and consume Energy to activate effects.
  • Includes over 20 types with detailed in-game descriptions.


Exclusive Weapons
Ball Lightning

  • Recipe: Morning Star + Volt Goat Horn + Lightning Conductor.
  • Melee weapon dealing 30 electric damage. Deals 1.5x damage against Wet targets.
  • Adding Restrained Static boosts max charge rate and adds 100% planar damage.
  • Right-click to summon ball lightning at a target and direct it. Rapidly consumes charge.
  • Charges at 1 Energy/s while equipped (max 30). Focus boosts damage. Damage scales with speed and size.


Spheric Guardian

  • Recipe: Melty Marbles + 3 Broken Shells + 6 Marble. (Recipe for Melty Marbles requires 3 Desert Stone).
  • Ranged weapon dealing 33 damage. Causes knockback when both spheres hit. Range: 5.
  • Right-click to summon a controllable guardian. Hitting a target causes knockback and slows the character while attracting aggro.
  • Being hit reduces weapon durability.
  • High-speed impacts deal damage or destroy objects. Do not summon to restore durability.


Orrery

  • Recipe: Star Caller's Staff + Moon Caller's Staff + Astral Detector.
  • Right-click to summon an Astrolabe. Orbs orbit the Astrolabe instead of the character.
  • Orbs can deal collision damage. Frost Orbs cannot draw aggro while active.
  • Locate self to restore normal orbit.
  • All three weapons can be used on self to recall, disabling right-click for 2 seconds to allow other operations.


Other Items
Data Disk

  • Recipe: Defragment + 2 Records + Purple Gem.
  • Holds 30 slots for Data only. Provides +1 Focus when in Core.


Nuclear Battery

  • Recipe: Nucleation Fluid + Bottled Lightning (one provided at start).
  • Recalls Plasma Orbs (20% charge each). Charges activated Data (costs 10%, restores 20%).
  • Releases a Plasma Orb then enters cooldown. Emits light on the ground using Energy.


Art of War

  • Recipe: Pan Flute + 3 Papyrus + 3 Rope (crafted at Ancient Pseudoscience Station).
  • Provides 1 Energy/s in Core.
  • 5s cooldown when attacking. During cooldown: no Energy consumption but +33% attack power.


Runic Capacitor

  • Recipe: Frazzled Wires + Electrical Doodad + 4 Marble.
  • Core stats: Max Energy +30, Max Sanity +10.
  • Has 1 slot. Insert activated Data to maintain full charge via Energy. Can also hold Ball Lightning or Spheric Guardian.


Bottled Lightning

  • Recipe: Bottle + 10 Energy (or: 3 Moon Glass Shards + 20 Energy).
  • Throwable item. Leaves a harmless electric field and 3 Moon Shard Glass pieces.
  • Creates a large AoE electric current when thrown in Water.


Runic Dome

  • Recipe: 6 Marble + 4 Nightmare Fuel (Tier 2 Magic station, universal recipe).
  • Greatly boosts protection, insulation, and waterproofing. Reduces field of view.


Head Backpack

  • Recipe: Football Helmet + Grass Suit.
  • Compensates for the inability to wear a backpack when a Core is equipped.
  • 12 slots (equal to Piggyback). Each item past the second reduces speed by 1%.
  • 70% damage absorption. Durability equals the combined sum of the Helmet and Suit. Repairable with either component.
  • Provides no protection at 0 durability, but the backpack function still works.
  • Note: Not guaranteed compatible with all multi-slot equipment mods.


Auto-Shield Device

  • Recipe: 2 Blue Gems + 6 Thulecite + 8 Frazzled Wires + 4 Cut Stone + 5 Electrical Doodads.
  • Deployable structure that protects structures, plants, and players from damage.
  • Features toggleable modes. Can only be removed with a Deconstruction Staff.
  • Recharge using a Nuclear Battery or Bottled Lightning.


Most values can be adjusted in the mod configuration.
