Mod «[B42.18] Home Inventory Remastered» for Project Zomboid
Home Inventory allows you to mark the places your survivors actually live and browse the items inside those regions from a searchable in-game inventory panel. It is built for Project Zomboid Build 42, multiplayer, and shared faction bases. The mod is safe to add or remove mid-campaign, ships as a standalone modification, and does not overwrite game files.
Create personal or faction-shared home regions, refresh them when needed, and view the contents in a dedicated Home Inventory window. Zones can span multiple floors and multiple bases, allowing you to organize your safehouse, garage, warehouse, remote stash house, or faction compound. The inventory panel supports searching, filtering, and sorting by item name, category, count, zone, container, and floor. Click a row to walk to the source tile or container, or right-click it for direct actions like Walk/Open, Grab One, Grab Half, and Grab All.
Scans are explicit short-lived jobs rather than constant background polling, keeping the mod quiet during normal play while allowing you to refresh your base inventory when current information is needed. Hover over an inventory item to see how many copies of that item are indexed in your home zones. By default, Home Inventory adds this as a cooperative Starlit Library tooltip row. If another tooltip mod requires full control, switch the sandbox setting to the separate overlay badge fallback.
What It Tracks:
- Items in furniture and world containers inside your home regions
- Loose items placed on floors
- Items inside nested containers
- Personal zones and faction-shared zones
Multiplayer: Home Inventory uses server-side persistence and permission checks. Faction zones can be shared with faction members, while personal zones stay tied to the player who created them. Server owners can tune the sandbox options for refresh-on-open behavior, item-hover display mode, and faction zone editing rules.
Compatibility Notes: This mod intentionally replaces the older cf_home / cf_home_fix pair. For clean testing, disable those legacy mods and enable Starlit Library plus Home Inventory. The default hover count uses Starlit Library's shared item-tooltip event instead of Home Inventory owning the vanilla tooltip renderer. The separate overlay badge remains available in the sandbox settings as a fallback for mod lists where the tooltip surface is still contested.
