Mod «Souped Up — Cooking Buffs» for Project Zomboid

0
37

Cooking finally pays off. Eating cooked food grants a temporary buff with concrete effects unique to each dish:

  • Stew: Reduces tiredness, restores stamina, lifts mood
  • Pasta: Reduces hunger, reduces tiredness, reduces boredom
  • Salad: Reduces thirst, reduces stress, heals minor wounds
  • Cake: Reduces stress, reduces boredom, lifts mood
  • ...and ~100 more dishes, each with its own effect spec.

Four thematic tags — Hearty / Filling / Fresh / Sweet — each occupy one HUD slot, so eating a variety of foods unlocks more buffs simultaneously. Hover over the icon to see what the buff does and its strength per minute.

The COOK's Cooking perk level scales the duration, not the eater's. The food's tooltip displays «Cooked by: <name> (Cooking N)» so you know whose hard work you are benefiting from. Eating only half the dish provides half the duration.

This mod covers vanilla compound recipes (Stew Bowl, Pasta Bowl, Pizza, Salad, Cake, Pie, etc.) as well as single cooked meats and fish (Steak, PorkChop, Salmon, Bass, etc.). Single raw ingredients do not trigger the effect — actual cooking is required.

Client-side, MP-friendly, and server-stable. Configurable in Sandbox Options (per-tag enable, magnitude scale, duration scale, base duration).
